The Takahē was once nearly extinct in the late 1940s and was accidentally rediscovered in the fjord lands of New Zealand. Now a protected bird species, these birds inspire me because of their unique colors and unusual shape, and certainly also due to their character. I have made a series of postcards of typical NZ birds. This work is also available on textile, plexiglass, or canvas.
